What About the Middle Man?
Distances between the social classes have caused society turmoil. The poor witness the rich getting richer. The poor observe the poor getting poorer. What about the middle population. The ones that receive no help trying to make ends meet. Where is the government for the people that are unable to afford insurance just to stay afloat? A majority of the working class falls in this category. The people that work the hardest and play the least seem doomed to being stuck in the middle. The rich get the tax breaks. The poor get the opportunities to go to school and better themselves, but many of them decide to live what they know and be “ok” with it. It is nearly impossible to feel sorry for the ones who make a million dollars and still barely break even. Is it possible to feel sorry for the ones who sit and watch television because they will not take that job at McDonalds or be a garbage man because it demeans them pushing themselves further into poverty? I think not. The middle class should be praised and given opportunities to rise to the upper class. That would be unrealistic though. Why help the ones who seem to be doing “ok”? I do not know. Not many realize the middle class fuels the economy and provides the force for the rich to stay in the upper class. This class also tries to help pull the poor out of their rut to make themselves better. The middle class is the forgotten class that no one worries about. Government should take a step back and analyze the true issues of America, not just the extremes.
